As a founder member of the guerilla-art group THE MUTOID WASTE COMPANY Giles Walker has worked with robots for over 20 years & started building kinetic sculptures & robots from materials found in various scrap-yards around Europe.
In 93 Giles also founded, ‘ANTIBODY’, a robotic rock’n’roll band consisting of fourteen robotic musicians. ANTIBODY toured Europe and Japan extensively.
In 94 Giles started working with rock n roll legend IAN DURY on a project, RUBY THROAT, combining performance, music, and a radio-controlled, robotic, lead vocalist. With a recording contract from Jamdown records under their belt they toured Europe, often appearing alongside Ian Dury & The Blockheads, for the following ten years.
Giles has also worked extensively within the film industry and for many years provided stunning sets and props for Movies such as Judge Dread.
Currently Giles works closely with RED 14, where his work involves building, pieces such as a robotic DJ DROID which has toured both Japan & the Ukraine.
Giles recently finished building two exotic, fully animated pole-dancers (‘PEEPSHOW’ ) which we will feature at Latitude this year, these have also appeared at events such as THE BIG DAY OUT TOUR Australia, the DigitalMedia Expo in Spain & the MUTATE BRITAIN exhibition in London.
