Desmond O'Connor is an internationally renowned musical comedian whose bittersweet lyrics and insanely catchy melodies never fail to shock, charm and entertain.   With a comedy song writing career that began as musical director of the Cambridge Footlights under the presidency of David Mitchell (Peep Show), Desmond is now one of the most exciting and original acts on the Burlesque and Variety scene.

Regular club and festival performances in London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Berlin and New York, alongside an acclaimed appearance at the New York Burlesque Festival 2008, have earned Desmond a far-reaching army of loyal fans.  His work as a presenter for MTV at Bestival and The Big Chill last summer has furthered his status as one of the biggest names on the UK music and cabaret circuit.  Desmond is thrilled to be performing his first solo show, Desmorphia, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer, along with Ministry of Burlesque and Blond Ambition’s burlesque/cabaret extravaganza, High Tease.  The Fringe will also find him working as composer, lyricist and musical director of “Scott Mills: The Musical” for Radio One.buy
