Friday 17th July, 2009Caroline Bird was born in London in 1986. She has two collections published with Carcanet: 'Looking Through Letterboxes' and ‘Trouble Came to the Turnip, and her third collection, 'Watering Can', is due to be published this November. Caroline has won numerous poetry prizes, including a major Eric Gregory award and Young Poet Of the Year, twice, and 'Trouble Came To The Turnip' was short-listed for the Dylan Thomas Prize 2008.
She has read her poetry on the BBC, at the Royal Festival Hall and Manchester, Glasgow, Cheltenham and Ledbury literature festivals. She is an enthusiastic leader of workshops in schools. She is currently studying English at Oxford.
