Sunday 19th July, 2009Jake Chapman makes iconoclastic sculpture, prints and installations that examine, with searing wit and energy, contemporary politics, religion and morality.
Emerging from the Young British Artist movement of the 1990s, with his brother Dinos, the consistent quality and ambition of their work has placed them beyond categorisation. They have applied their unique approach to varied media including film, advertising and literature. On reading Jake’s most recent romantic novel The Marriage of Reason and Squalor, Will Self said ‘my eyes bled’.
Jake Chapman will talk about their work and his own with Miranda Sawyer. Jake will be signing copies of his book after the event.
