In February 2005, Edwyn Collins suffered two devastating brain haemorrhages. He almost died, saved only by the genius of modern neurosurgery. Doctors advised that if he did survive, there may be little to recognise of his old self. Initially, Edwyn couldn’t speak, read, write, walk, sit up or feed himself. With the help of his partner Grace and their son Will, Edwyn fought back. Slowly, and with monumental effort, he began to teach his brain to read and speak all over again.

In Falling and Laughing Grace and Edwyn will discuss how life can be turned upside down in a heartbeat and, with unflinching honesty, chronicle Edwyn’s remarkable return to his world.buy
