Saturday 18th July, 2009The Mercury Theatre Company Colchester present CATASTROPHIC SEX MUSIC
By Byshhe Coffey and Directed by Janice Dunn
Performers Keith Dunphy & Clare Humphrey
22 year old Byshhe has written this heady and violent work for his generation, in an attempt to “find a new and relevant language for theatre”. Inspired by Sarah Kane, Shakespeare, CCTV and described as “Smash Hits on Acid”, it’s like most intense experiences – you have to be there to get it.
Written in the style of an epic poem, its fragmented narrative takes on Tarantino-style filmic qualities with flashbacks, physical theatre and dark humour. This production contains explicit strong language and graphic sexual references.
It is not suitable for children.
