Friday 17th July, 2009Daljit Nagra will be reading comic and serious poems from his highly acclaimed award winning first collection Look We Have Coming to Dover! and he will also be reading previously unheard poems which will feature in his imminent second collection.
Alongside his own poems, Daljit will play some of his favourite recordings by the key poets of the past century. He will discuss these recordings on stage with other peots and with the audience .
This hour long programme is an innovative blend of a poet’s own work followed by an interactive session with the audience about the works of great poets who were also great reader’s of their work.
Daljit Nagra comes from an Indian background and grew up in West London and Sheffield. His first collection Look We Have Coming to Dover! was published by Faber and Faber and went on to win the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and also The South Bank Show Decibel Award.
