The House of Fairy Tales presents Candlelit Matinee

Made by young people for young people. An exciting new area in the woods for curious and creative Latitude teens.

The Picture Palace - We recreate a ghostly Victorian music hall in between the trees of the woods, complete with furniture and a lounge much like an old fashioned cabaret set.

Stage, Screen and Orchestra pit showing live footage , classic and quirky animations and art films with musicians playing live with the cinema as backdrop much like a silent movie theatres. Some of the films will be original, made and premiered at the festival by a group of young artists.

Stalls - This area offers evolving workshops with fashion, drama and comedy masterclasses, drawing and modelmaking , plus animation and stop motion collage movie making with Jo van der Meer from the BFI. 1927 will be bringing their inimitable style with '1927; A Space Odyssey'-  where the audience are invited to join in and star in the B Movie to end all B Movies- filmed, edited and premiered at Latitude 2009.

Other attractions include music workshops with Milk Bar Records and Teenbop, anarchic storytelling from the Story Pirates,Green screen movie making in Reginald Travelen's Travelling Palace. dress up and be part of Georgina's circus Sideshow and be immortalised in the Sideshow of Terror. Visit the Drawing Room and Strangeworks Studio and loose all sense of time in the land of drawing. create in the Inventors Studio with Darcy turner and Jim Bond. Or loose all sense of fashion and discover your inner style with the fabulous girls from Rart recycled makeovers. Alchemy Potions and Witchcraft or Fruit Puppetry are also on offer. Alternatively you can get lost in our secret garden learning about toadstalls and unusual plants with Artist and Garden Designer Dan Bristow.
